New Patients

At your first appointment, your dentist will carry out a comprehensive oral examination. You may not realize quite how much this includes:

• A thorough review of your medical and dental history

• The taking of intra-oral photos

• Screening for oral cancers

• A periodontal health evaluation (check of your gums!)

• An examination of your teeth and soft tissues

• Assessing for TMJ problems

• Checking the occlusion (how the teeth meet when biting)

This is such an important exam as it tells your dentist what you need to work on and how we can help you improve it in the future.

When you arrange your first appointment you will be encouraged to tell us if you have any special needs.

We can help disabled patients and those who cannot cope with stairs as two of our rooms are on the ground floor. If you are unable to visit the practice, we will do our best to help and offer home visits by arrangement.
